The Daily Scribe
Friday July 21, 2006

ThinkBuddha has just joined The Daily Scribe, a new network of religious blogs of all persuasions run by Shawn Anthony. The Daily Scribe is a very young project, but it aims to become a collection of some of the top religious writing on the web, as well as a becoming a handy research gateway.
Although I’m have said repeatedly that I’m not sure that thinkBuddha is a religious blog, and I resist to some extent the idea that I might personally be in any way ‘religious’, I think that the Daily Scribe will be an interesting project to be involved with. Then again, I’m not entirely sure that thinkBuddha isn’t a religious blog, and it is certainly true that it is a blog that concerns itself quite frequently with religion… but I’ll have to leave my reflections upon the idea of religion and how it relates to curious thing that is Buddhism (and the curious thing that is my approach to Buddhism) for a later date.
Sadly, joining the Daily Scribe has meant that I’ve had to bid my all-too-soon and very fond farewells to 9rules, only a couple of months after joining them. 9rules have a very strict policy (although not, in my view, unreasonable) of only allowing their members to be a part of one formal content network, and so I’ve had to take my leave. The Daily Scribe is so new that it didn’t even exist when I joined 9rules, but I feel that in the end, the bit of extra focus at the Daily Scribe wins the day for me. So I’d like to say thanks to all you 9rulers out there who have been so welcoming, and so gracious and generous on my decision to depart for pastures new.
If you visit the Daily Scribe, you will see that it is divided up into channels, and I’m unsurprisingly in the Buddhist Channel. In fact, I’m the only person on the Buddhist Channel, so at the moment it’s a bit limited. It is a bit like turning on BBC Radio 4 at any time of the day or night and finding that The Archers is on (which is pretty well what happens anyway – the Wikipedia link is for non-Brits!). So if any Buddhist bloggers out there fancy getting involved, it would be great to have you joining the party. You can find out how to apply by clicking here
