Retreat

This will be my last post for a few days as I’m about to go off for a week’s meditation retreat. Not before time, too! It’s been around two years before I was last properly on retreat, and so I’m looking forward to a week of silence and meditation to let the restless chatter of my mind settle down…

Before I go, I thought I’d just leave with a thought from Philo of Alexandria. I stumbled across this the other day, and liked it.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle.

I hope you have a good time on retreat. I love the quote!

Just discovered your site via BlogExplosion. I’ve been reading a lot of Buddhist writings lately – Pema Chodron, Chogyam Trungpa, Joko Beck – and I’m finding it very satisfying. I’m pretty much a universalist (not as in Unitarian Universalism), in that I glean my spiritual beliefs from many different sources, and I don’t feel a need to identify as anything other than a human being. That said, Buddhism seems to speak to me more clearly these days than anything else.

I hope your retreat goes well and I look forward to checking in here at your blog when I can.

Thanks for your best wishes. The retreat was wonderful and I’ll be posting more when I get back up to full speed in a few days’ time…
