Haiku Wanted!
Tuesday January 24, 2006

Inksplash

I don’t know if there are any haiku poets visiting this blog, but if there are, I should probably let you know about one of my other projects. When I’m not running thinkBuddha, I’m also in charge of Birmingham Words, a writers’ community website.

Birmingham Words is about to launch a series of free online literary pamphlets and we are currently looking for submissions for the first in the series, which is called The Poetic Image: Haiku and Photography, set to be published in April 2006 and to be guest-edited by haiku poet Alan Summers. We are looking looking for submissions from poets and photographers. What we need are:

  • haiku or any related forms (senryu, haiga, haibun, renga, tanka etc.)
  • black and white photography (JPEGs only, please)

The collection will be published online in PDF format and available for free download from the site. The way to find submit is by going to the Birmingham Words publication page. The deadline for submissions is 28th February.

Does ‘previously unpublished’ include on our own blogs?

Hello. I’ve been lurking for a while, liking what you write and gaining deep aesthetic satisfaction from your design.
